Main Street of Perry is proud to present their first-ever Hot Dog Eating Contest! It will be held during the Freedom on the Square event on Saturday, June 27.

The contest is a fundraiser sponsored by the Kumback Lunch. Entry fees will be donated directly to the local Backpack Blessings program. The winner will receive a free meal per week for a year from the Kumback!

Who: Open to anyone (participants under age 18 must have parental consent)
Entry Fee: $25 per person
Object: Consume the most hot dogs in 10 minutes
Awards: Winner will receive a free meal per week for a year from Kumback Lunch
Fundraiser: Entry fees will be donated directly to the Backpack Blessings program

Hot Dog Eating Contest Rules

• Contest begins promptly at 12:00PM and lasts for a 10-minute time period.

• Participants must remain at their assigned eating station throughout the contest.

• Only hot dogs and buns provided by the contest organizers may be consumed.

• Water or other approved beverages may be used to aid consumption.

• Hot dogs may be separated from buns and consumed in any order.

• A hot dog and bun must be completely swallowed to count toward the participant's total.

• Contest officials have final authority on all hot dog counts and rule interpretations.

• Any contestant who engages in unsportsmanlike conduct, tampers with another participant's food, or violates contest rules may be disqualified.

• Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian's consent.

• In the event of a tie, a designated tiebreaker round will determine the winner.

• Contestants participate at their own risk and should not compete if they have medical conditions that could be aggravated by competitive eating.

• Main Street of Perry reserves the right to modify contest rules or disqualify participants for safety reasons.

•  Main Street of Perry will provide the judges, counters, and timer/clock.
