Grant Program

Main Street of Perry offers grant funding opportunities for our local downtown Perry businesses.

Main Street Business Grant Application

To encourage the creation of new businesses, support the growth of existing ones, and driving overall economic development into downtown.


Current or new businesses that generate sales tax revenue, or investors that want to contribute to the quality of life for local residents within the Main Street of Perry District in Perry, Oklahoma .


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Applications due quarterly before: 

    • January 1

    • April 1 

      July 1 

    • October 1

  • Incomplete applications will be subject to rejection if not fully complete before the deadline of each quarter.

  • Applicants will present in person to the Main Street Economic Vitality Committee. Quarterly presentation meetings with applicants will be set: January, April, July, October

  • Matching grants 50/50: up to $6,250, $12,500, & $15,000

  • Include bids, quotes and other supporting documents for project cost.

  • Application must be signed by the legal owner of the property. 

  • Ensure W-9, legal documents, and IRS forms match (names, LLCs, etc.)


POST AWARD PROCESS

  • All grantees will receive an email with details of the awarded amount. 

  • Grantees must submit projects with a specific timeline. 

  • Submit receipts and documentation of payment for review upon project completion. 

  • Receive reimbursement within 30 days of completion.


 PROGRAM CRITERIA:

  1. SUBMISSION PERIODS: Grants shall be accepted:  January 1, April 1, July 1 & October 1. Applicants must apply online at www.mainstreetperry.com or by emailing their application to laura@mainstreetperry.com 

  2. APPROVAL PROCESS: All projects are subject to approval by the Grant Committee and Perry Main Street Board of Directors. 

  3. TENANT APPLICATIONS: Tenants must obtain explicit approval from the property owner for the proposed use of funds to apply for the grant. The signed agreement must be signed by the legal owner of the property, authorizing the application. 

  4. GEOGRAPHIC PRIORITY: Priority is given to projects located within the boundaries specified in the attached map. Project applications bordering this geographic area will be subject to approval by the Business Grant Committee. 

  5. FUNDING PERIOD: Grants that are approved will receive funding within 30 days of final completion or in some cases can be paid out to the supplier, construction company, or business completing the work. 

  6. GRANT LIMITS: Individual parcels are limited to one grant per fiscal year, January - December.  

  7. DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS: All projects will require documentation of payment before inspections can be conducted.

  8. LEGAL CONSISTENCY: All W-9 forms, legal documents, and IRS forms must match, including names, LLCs, etc. 

  9. NON-TRANSFERABILITY OF GRANT AWARDS: Grant applicattions and awards are nontransferable and will be forfeited if the property is sold or ownership is transferred during the award period.


GRANT CRITERIA:

  • Each individual parcel of real property in the Main Street District is eligible.

  • Grant proposals must include a written scope of work detailing the proposed project. Proposals are required to include bids, quotes, and other documents to support the cost of the work or products being used. 

  • All exterior projects are required to apply for the Main Street Perry Facade and Beautification Grant. 


Projects eligible for the grants include, but are not limited to: 

  • Electrical work.

  • Plumbing work.

  • Improvements to interior ceilings that enhance or maintain the historic character of the building

  • Interior lighting that is “hard-wired” and has a fixed mounting point. 

  • Interior “permanent” structural elements such as counter tops, bars, stage platforms, and doors.

  • Interior fire suppression systems and sprinklers. 

  • Multi-story fire-escape structures. 

  • A.D.A.-compliant improvements to bathrooms or interior bathroom access. 

  • Roof repairs.

  • HVAC.

  • Interior floor installation, removal or refurbishment that enhances or maintains the historic character of the building. Interior improvements for commercial kitchen use. 

  • Business formation & Legal Fees 

  • Equipment and supplies 

  • Technology and software 

  • Marketing & Branding
